Absa offers range of riot relief measures

FOLLOWING the unrest and violence in parts of South Africa, Absa said it had introduced a range of customised relief measures for customers impacted by the recent disorder.

With immediate effect, Absa said it was reintroducing the Siyasizana programme to provide a bespoke payment relief solution to assist retail customers with existing credit facilities who have been impacted by the unrest.

It would tailor credit/relief solutions for business bank customers as they rebuild and restore operations, and would reduce Saswitch fees for two months. Cash withdrawal fees had also been reduced at Absa-supported ATMS. Retail customers with transactional accounts could withdraw cash at point-of-sale terminals free of charge.

Mobile ATMS had been deployed to affected communities in Kwazulu-natal to provide banking services, Absa said.
